Used with EIPLATOR August 29, 2010 S. Darling 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Simply put, the stuff works. Can't put it more clearly. Get this, I even used an EPILATOR. On my bikini area. Talk about pain; not with this stuff though. I have used a few products in the past, ie Gigi's spray can (2% lidocaine I believe), some other alcohol liquid that is supposed to be fast acting, with 20% benzocaine, and even EMLA. This stuff works just as well as EMLA and won't cost an arm, a leg, and a prescription. I don't know if it matters, but how I chose to use it is 1.5 hours for the first application, and 45 minute for the second. Literally. Didn't. Feel. Anything. I could tell that the epilator was tugging at the hairs because the skin around the area being epilated was not numb of course, so there is this weird tugging thing but it isn't a pain. More like someone is repeatedly tapping you on the shoulder. Except down there. Anyways, I think the misconception is that there is any such thing as a local anesthetic topical that will work in the 2-5 minutes that is advertised on most products. The truth is, if you want the area to be truly numb you have to have the patience to wait. Even subcutaneous lidocaine injection takes a little while for full affect. Bottom line: if you have the patience, and you are a sissy like me when it comes to hair removal, you should give this stuff a shot. If you don't take my advice here, at least find a way to actually soak in another product so it will work. (Cellophane wrap does this trick rather nicely for sprays and liquids.) Good luck!
Felt no pain! Works great! August 16, 2010 J. Badon My sister and I decided to try out bikini waxing. This sounded like a painful expereince so I did a little research and found this cream. I felt nothing! It worked so great that I would definitely do it again.
Works better than EMLA May 29, 2010 Looking for comfort (NH) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I had been using EMLA for twice the price and available only by prescription. Tried this and find it actually works better for laser and electrolysis hair removal.
IT REALLY WORKS April 9, 2010 Da Slick (PA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I needed this for some shots recently with a large needle. I barely felt the 5" needle after using this. I put it on, heavily, twice, starting 2 hours before and covering the area with plastic wrap and tape.....then reapplying an hour before, heavily again. It is worth it just for peace of mind if you hate needles.
Great for insulin shots and pumps January 27, 2010 M. Ferrin (TN) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
My 9 yr old son was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes last year. He hated needles and with 4 shots a day, every one was an ordeal that broke my heart. I discovered 4% lidocaine cream. We first bought another brand that cost twice as much and actually didn't work as well as this one. He dabs some on a small square of plastic we cut from a baggie and adhere with paper tape. He wears it for about 30-45 minutes before giving his shot. We usually just put it on before eating and he was ready for his shot after his meal. With the LIDO, he started giving himself his own shots. That is how well this numbed. He is now on the Omnipod Insulin pump, so 4 shots a day is a thing of the past, but we still use the LIDO every 3 days when he changes his pod. LIDO 4% has really made diabetes treatment bearable for our son. Thanks!
